Job Overview
This position reports to The Loan Center Manager. This role requires someone who is enthusiastic about educating and assisting our members with our services. As the Assistant Loan Center Manager for The Loan Center (TLC), your role is pivotal in supporting the overall management and operation of the TLC department. In collaboration with the TLC Manager, you will assume responsibilities for overseeing underwriting, funding, loan servicing, and title processing of direct consumer loans. Your focus will be on maintaining compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulations while providing leadership to the team. You will be an empowering mentor that will be:

$61,517.00-$92,276.00
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- Education – Associate’s degree or Minimum 60 college credits
- Minimum 5 years lending experience
- Minimum of 3 years of lending authority
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
- Previous credit union experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities
- Understanding of financial industry concepts, related laws, and regulations
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
- Excellent interviewing, communication, and public relations skills.
- Ability to work in stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications
Role Description and Essential Duties
- Assist the Loan Center Manager with planning, directing and monitoring centralized lending operations for Direct Lending, ensuring goals and objectives are met with respect to lending.
- Focus internally on the division milestones, objectives, resources, products, improvements, procedures, and processes.
- Assume managerial duties in the absence of the manager.
- Manage call ratio, identify trends, and schedule accordingly to meet member and Credit Union needs.
- Conduct yearly performance appraisals and monthly 1:1 meeting(s). Track individual progress, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Strong understanding of Credit Union loan products and services.
- Strong understanding of consumer loan underwriting and portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of core and loan origination systems and other operating systems pertinent to lending department.
- Stay informed about local and national economic conditions and legal/regulatory changes.
- Coordinate the implementation of changes to established policies and procedures.
- Oversee Loan Officers and Loan Processors to ensure timely decisioning and processing of loan applications.
- Daily loan file review of credit applications.
- Ensure that all consumer loans are reviewed, processed and funded as efficiently as possible and existing service level standards are maintained.
- Support TLC Manager as a secondary administrator for lending related systems.
- Collaborate with other internal departments to improve member experience.
- Coordinate and cross train with Indirect Assistant Manager
- Verify quality control on a random set of loans to ensure accuracy and adherence to policy and procedures.
- Provide ongoing training, coaching and development for loan officers, loan processors, and loan service specialist.
- Proactively seek opportunities for ongoing professional growth and learning.
- Complies with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rules and regulations, in addition to Customer Identification Program (CIP). Attends required annual BSA training and required compliance training.
