Field Service Technician (Direct Hire)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join a leading provider in MAP and Rollstock packaging technology. This role requires hands-on experience in electro-mechanical systems, pneumatics, AC/DC motor control, PLCs, and VFDs. The position involves extensive travel (up to 80% across North America) to install, maintain, and troubleshoot packaging equipment for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation: Provide technical consultation and installation assistance on-site.
• Startup Support: Prepare for site readiness, monitor startup, assist, and train customers.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve machine issues, including complete rebuilds.
• Technical Expertise: Work with blueprints, specifications, and technical documents for troubleshooting.
• Customer Training & Support: Educate customers on proper equipment operation.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate service reports, repair logs, and warranty records.
• Collaboration: Work with engineering, project management, spare parts, and management teams to resolve escalated issues.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all company and site-specific safety protocols.
• Equipment Management: Ensure all tools and materials are maintained and in good working order.
• Support Additional Projects: Assist in unit refurbishments, parts recommendations, and customer service inquiries.
• Overtime & Travel: Ability to work extra hours, including weekends if necessary, and travel internationally as required.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a related field.
• Strong electro-mechanical knowledge: pneumatics, AC/DC motor control, PLCs, VFDs.
• Self-motivated and independent with strong problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and passport for travel.
• Proficiency in using computers and smartphones for reporting and timekeeping.
• Must maintain current inoculations as required for fieldwork.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience in the Packaging Equipment field (preferred but not required).
• Prior experience traveling to customer sites with strong customer service skills.
