Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement, vendor relations, warehouse operations, tool and equipment management, cost tracking, and project support. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of purchasing and inventory functions within the HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, and Process Piping industries.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Cost Tracking:

• Assign appropriate cost codes and project numbers to all purchase orders and invoices.
• Manage large-scale purchase orders while monitoring and tracking daily deliveries and scheduled shipments.
• Negotiate vendor pricing and maintain strong supplier relationships to optimize costs and procurement efficiency.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate billing, backorder resolutions, and credit processing.

Warehouse & Inventory Management:

• Oversee warehouse operations and delegate tasks to warehouse staff.
• Track and manage tool inventory, repairs, and rental agreements (tools, storage, office trailers, man-lifts).
• Monitor tool budgets for all projects to ensure financial efficiency.

Project & Vendor Coordination:

• Attend project meetings to address ordering issues and provide budget updates.
• Ensure seamless coordination between procurement, warehousing, and project teams to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
• Manage and maintain the fleet vehicle GPS program, ensuring correct driver assignments, timely truck departures, and scheduled vehicle maintenance.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Experience in the HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, and Process Piping industry is required.
• Strong background in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
• Ability to track and manage vendor relationships and negotiate supplier pricing effectively.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to establish long-term supplier partnerships.
