Shift Supervisor
Job Overview
The Shift Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate must have supervisory experience, strong computer skills, and a manufacturing background (preferably in dry products and Elevation Transfer Units). This position requires hands-on leadership, ensuring safety, production efficiency, and workforce management.
- Supervises hourly union staff with room for career growth within the company.
- 10% annual bonus eligibility.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Production Management:
- Oversee daily manufacturing processes and ensure production goals are met.
- Supervise union employees, ensuring fair treatment and clear expectations.
- Monitor and optimize production rates, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and operated efficiently for peak productivity.
- Complete production reports at the end of each shift.
Safety & Compliance:
- Prioritize safety at all times; lead monthly safety meetings and report incidents.
- Investigate and document accidents, hazards, and near-miss incidents.
- Ensure all employees comply with company policies, labor contracts, and MSHA Part 46 safety training.
Quality Control & Reporting:
- Oversee production quality and ensure products meet specifications.
- Pick up quality sheets from the lab at the start of each shift.
- Investigate and address quality or equipment issues on the filter floor.
- Prevent contamination of feed products and enforce ISO standards.
Workforce Management & Employee Relations:
- Approve timecards, manage vacation requests, and handle attendance tracking.
- Coach employees to improve performance; document conversations as needed.
- Address any performance issues in coordination with the Production Superintendent.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and teamwork.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong computer skills (reporting, scheduling, and operational systems).
- Manufacturing background, preferably in dry products and Elevation Transfer Units.
- MSHA Part 46 Training (24-hour safety course required before starting).
- Ability to solve problems, troubleshoot equipment issues, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong ability to lead, document, and enforce company policies.

Work Hours: Rotating shifts (7 AM – 7 PM / 7 PM – 7 AM, rotates every 3 months).
