Sr. Electrical Design Engineer
Location : Elgin, IL (On-site)

Job Overview
We are seeking a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in capital equipment design, automation, and high-speed machinery. This role requires PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley), electrical system design, and hands-on project management from concept to production.
- Lead projects from design to implementation.
- Travel up to 20% (domestic, potential international travel).
- Final round interviews will be held in person, with travel expenses covered (excluding mileage reimbursement for those driving).
Key Responsibilities Electrical Design & System Development :
Design, develop, and test high-speed automation and packaging machinery.Create complete electrical system designs, including schematics, diagrams, and bills of materials.Specify and integrate components such as Stepper Motors, Servo Systems, and Touchscreens.Develop ladder logic and troubleshoot motion control systems (Allen Bradley PLCs).Ensure designs meet industry standards and optimize for efficiency and reliability.Project Leadership & Collaboration :
Manage high-level projects from inception to production.Work closely with engineers and field service teams to support installations and troubleshooting.Provide technical training to clients and field technicians as needed.Ensure compliance with industry safety and performance standards.Technical Support & Field Service :
Support customers with hardware and software troubleshooting at client locations.Travel up to 20% to assist with installations and issue resolution.Maintain clear documentation for troubleshooting and future reference.Must-Have Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in capital equipment design and service.7-10 years of experience in high-speed automation and electrical design.Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD, or similar).Strong experience with Allen Bradley PLC systems and ladder logic programming.Demonstrated expertise in Stepper Motors, Servo Systems, and Touchscreen-controlled equipment.Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 20%, including internationally.Additional Information :
