WE ARE LOOKING FOR THOSE CALLED TO SERVE GOD AND HIS CHILDREN AND WILLING TO JOIN OUR CHILDREN’S MINISTRY TEAM. THE CHILDREN’S MINISTRY TEAM WORKS FOR THE CHURCH MONDAY-FRIDAY AT OUR CHILDCARE CENTER, WORSHIP SERVICE ON SUNDAY MORNINGS, AND VIRTUAL BIBLE CLASS WEDNESDAY EVENINGS. You must have a heart to serve God and experience working with children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. Do not apply if you are looking for a simple 9 to 5 daycare job. We are a church NOT a daycare.

MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED TO SERVE OUR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY TEAM HOURS:

Our ministry team is paid for all hours worked per week.

We seek responsible individuals to serve on our Children’s Ministry Team who can work six days a week (Sunday-Friday). Do NOT apply if you are not available to work both ministry and childcare hours listed below:

Ministry Hours

- Sunday – 8:45 am – 1:00 pm (Children, Youth, and Adult Bible Study and Worship service)

- Wednesday – 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm (Wednesday night Bible class on Zoom)

Childcare Hours – 1-hour lunch break

- Monday – Friday (open shifts at childcare center)

o 6:30 am – 3:30 pm

o 7:30 am – 4:30 pm

o 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

- Saturday (occasionally)

Job Description:

- As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and programs for children aged six weeks to 12 years old. You will also ensure the safety and well-being of the children in your care and communicate effectively with their parents and guardians.

- The Early Childhood Educator works Sunday mornings, assisting with children’s Bible class and worship service to connect children to Jesus.

- The Early Childhood Educator teaches children’s Bible class via Zoom on Wednesday evenings or participates in adult Bible classes, if not in children’s Bible class.

- Early Childhood Educators are vital to the smooth operation of our daily childcare and Bible programs. This position requires a person willing to work six days a week (Sunday-Friday). Willingness to attend mandatory DHS training after hours and occasionally on Saturdays.

- Must be faithful, available, and teachable.

- This position requires a person who is willing to assist throughout the facility in various capacities: substituting, giving team breaks, preparing snacks, general upkeep duties, and taking initiative to do what needs to be done, etc.

- This position can be physically strenuous. The Early Childhood Educator must be able to play on the floor, lift young children, move quickly, prioritize tasks and needs, communicate well, etc. Must be willing to work closely and respectfully with others while adhering to DHS childcare guidelines and training. Our team members are valued and appreciated!

- You will work collaboratively with other staff members and follow the policies and procedures of the childcare center and the church.

- To be successful in this role, you should have a diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and a valid First Aid and CPR certificate. You should also have experience working with young children in a childcare setting and demonstrate a passion for nurturing their growth and learning.

- You should respect the values and beliefs of the church and be able to create a positive and inclusive environment for all children.

Compensation:

Your level of EDUCATION determines your base pay.* RELEVANT EXPERIENCE *increases your compensation.

Background, Experience, and Education

  • At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or GED certificate are required.
  • Early education BA, AA, or CDA highly preferred
  • Previous experience in a state-licensed facility OR documented pre-service training required.
  • Experience working in a children’s ministry setting is a plus.
  • Able to meet all teacher qualifications as stated in the Minimum Standards for childcare centers in Tennessee, which includes maintaining First-Aid and CPR certification during employment.

Requirements:

  • A Criminal Background Check is required.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Available to attend mandatory DHS training during weekends and/or evening hours after 6:00 p.m.
  • Available to work overtime when needed.
