About the Role:

Paralegal – Help Keep Our Legal Operations Cleared for Takeoff!
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Paralegal to join our legal crew and support both in-house attorneys and outside counsel in navigating the legal skies. In this vital co-pilot role, you’ll provide the legal and administrative lift that helps the Authority stay on course, meet strategic flight plans, and land complex initiatives smoothly. From managing case files and drafting documents to coordinating communications and keeping everything on schedule, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our legal operations are always cleared for takeoff.

Compensation:

  • Maximum – Based on experience
  • Minimum - $63,133.20


What You’ll Do:

  • Support ordinance, policy, and procedure development, organization, and management.
  • Support the development of the monthly Board packet.
  • Support responses to discovery and public records requests, including use of e-discovery software and processes.
  • Review and organize contracts and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
  • Act as a notary public, notarizing documents as needed (license can be obtained after hire).
  • Coordinate specific legal programs as directed (such as ADA and Title VI program coordinator, contracts, AIA documents, Board meeting materials and minutes, records management, etc.)
  • Perform broad and wide-ranging research tasks, particularly including North Carolina statutes and federal laws, rules, and regulations enforced by the Federal Aviation Administration.
  • Maintain minute books and other corporate records.
  • Manage legal department invoices and related purchase requisitions.
  • Support legal department document management processes and solutions.
  • Performs additional related work as required.

What You Need:

Education:

Required:

  • Associate degree in paralegal studies OR an associate degree not in paralegal studies plus a Certification OR Diploma program recognized by the North Carolina State Bar.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies

Experience:

Required:

  • 3 years of paralegal experience

Preferred:

  • 5 years of paralegal experience

Licenses or Certifications:

Required:

  • NC Certified Paralegal, certified from the North Carolina State Bar.

Typical Work Hours:

  • Monday - Friday
    • Some flexibility is available regarding the work schedule between the hours of: 7 am - 6 pm, possible work-from-home Fridays. Work hours outside of the traditional schedule may be required occasionally. Final schedule preference will be negotiated with the manager during the hiring process.

  • On-site RDU Airport Campus
