Job Description:
The PRN III RN in our Surgical Intensive Care Unit provides critical care to medical and surgical patients, focusing on cardiac patients when necessary. This role requires strong critical thinking and decisive judgment skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include administering therapies, monitoring vital signs, and conducting various intensive care procedures.
Responsibilities:
This ICU nursing position requires a highly skilled and compassionate individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include:
• Administering therapies such as vasoactive drugs, anti-arrhythmic drug administration, thrombolytic therapy, and ventilator support
• Monitoring vital signs, Swan-Ganz, central venous pressure, arterial lines, electrocardiogram, and bedside glucose monitoring
• Performing parenteral and enteral nutritional support, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), peritoneal dialysis, and acute hemodialysis performed by a hemodialysis nurse
• Demonstrating professional and personal development through ongoing education and training
Qualifications:
To be successful in this ICU nursing position, you must possess the following qualifications:
• Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Current licensure by WV State Board of Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months
• TNCC certification within 6 months
