GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Essential qualities will include collaboration and relationship building as you supervise a team of project managers and engage in close contact with external and internal customers such as residents, colleagues, contractors and city inspectors. Organizational skills and confidence are vital as you will simultaneously manage multiple priorities and staff. A self-motivated candidate is required for planning and implementing new workflow patterns, and successful team management as you make practical decisions while representing the best interests of our customers.
As senior construction project manager, you will be responsible for supervising a team of project managers who evaluate, plan and complete capital improvement projects. You will provide counsel and direction as your team evaluates projects, develops scopes of work and project schedules ensuring successful projects are completed on time and within budget. You will evaluate your team’s current workflow and pipelines, presenting opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy. You will ensure your team schedules contractors in practical order while ensuring work is efficiently completed during jobsite inspections. You will directly oversee large capital improvement projects, set up and maintain associated contract files from inception to completion and authorize contract payments. While engaging in assigned communities, you will evaluate and present opportunities for capital improvement projects.
Desirable Education and Training
Graduation from a four-year college with a degree in business supplemented by considerable experience in construction field an equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. NC General Contractor's license, Asbestos Abatement Supervisor, and Lead Based Paint Supervisor certifications are preferred. Familiarity with MS Office 365 and Yardi is highly preferred.
