Position Description

Concrete Foreman responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below.

• Assessing job priorities and assigning employees to appropriate job sites and activities concerning fabrication, assembly, and erection of structures.
• Lead concrete workers capable of blue print reading setting forms, setting grade, and finishing concrete.
• Fulfill all responsibilities of a concrete finisher.
• Making sure employees have tools and equipment needed for job in order to ensure a good output.
• Overseeing the work and making sure it runs smoothly per the project plan
• Giving clear directions to crews as to what needs to be done to avoid repetitive mistakes, or rework.
• Hold the weekly job site safety meeting and record the meeting minutes in the log for future references.
• Assesses and communicates hazards associated with pending work daily.
• Acts as leader and supervisor for small crews engaged in road/highway concrete work, concrete maintenance and repair projects, concrete paving projects, and other civil infrastructure projects.
• In the absence of the Superintendent supervises operations, directing sub-contractors, and maintaining material inventory.
• Performs labor incidental to the work of operating equipment, other laboring tasks when required.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job
  
  

Position Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of Supervisor or Lead concrete finishing work experience – supervising concrete finishers, straight-edge finishers, curbman finishers, laborers, and concrete paving crews.
• A minimum of 2 years working of working as a concrete finisher on a roadway concrete paving crew.
• A minimum of 6 years of reading blueprints work experience in bridge work, parking structures, and / or large concrete structures
• A Minimum of 6 years of experience in concrete finishing and pouring concrete or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Willing to do laborer work
• Flexible availability to work alternate schedules, including different hours and/or days of week, based on business needs
• Valid Driver’s license
• Pass criminal and driving background checks
