What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Host position at Ralph's American Grill?
Ralph's American Grill is seeking a Host/Hostess to join our team! The Host/Hostess welcomes guests to the restaurant and provides fast and courteous service to ensure an enjoyable dining experience and repeat business.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greets guests in a prompt and courteous manner; seats guest ensuring a balanced workload among servers.
- Assigns and informs servers of stations for meal period.
- Processes take-out orders; may answer room service phone and process room service orders; practices suggestive selling techniques.
- Receives customer payment from servers and processes transactions on cash register as outlines in the cash ans charge procedures; gives correct change; balances cash drawer at close of shift; completes all opening and closing paperwork; documents voids on void balance sheet.
- May assist server’s assistants in clearing, cleaning, and setting tables.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- 6 months cash handling experience
- Customer service skills
- Organizational skills
- Interpersonal communicational skills
