Wed say this is a sales position and it is but that would be truly misleading.
This is more of a sharing and teaching position.
Because what we want you to sell is your love for wine, coffee, cooking, and gourmet food.
Do you think lifes too short for shitty coffee?
Do you think a good glass of wine can change your whole attitude especially when paired with great food?
Is a sharp knife a joy to use?
Listen : you dont have to KNOW all the minutia behind this stuff in some snooty, nose-in-the-air fashion that so many connoisseurs cultivated.
We can absolutely teach you the facts and show you the ropes. It would actually be our pleasure to make you a stone-cold expert in everything in your section of the store.
Plus, well PAY you good money to learn it.
What we cant teach, though, is real passion for this stuff. Or a desire to share that passion with others. You have to WANT to serve other people.
You also have to want to learn and take on responsibility and prove yourself. Customer service and people skills are a big part of the job.
