Moving Company helper, packer, warehouse

MOVER/PACKER/WAREHOUSE

COMPENSATION: Hourly

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full time

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Excellent customer service is the number one goal.
• Assist the driver with moving household goods efficiently and safely.
• Participate in ongoing training/testing and development.
• Assist driver with pre-trip/post-trip inspections/vehicle management.
• Loading/unloading of material and equipment.
• Accountable for material and equipment.
• Assist in packing/crating of personal effects needing protection for safe transport.
• Detailed inventory of household goods items
• Loading/ unloading of household goods into trucks/trailers.
• Cleaning of company equipment and property throughout the day.
• Comply with all policies found in the employee handbook as well as policies and/or procedures presented by management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1-2 yrs previous warehouse experience preferred
• Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills
• Dependable and Reliable
• Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively to both co-workers and customers alike.
• Must be able to listen and take instructions with regards to customer service.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using both whole numbers and decimal points.
• The above skills must be used with regards to United States Dollars (US$) as well as weights and measures, volumes, and time.

REASONING SKILLS:

• Must be able to solve everyday problems, always looking for the best right answer.
• Must be able to interpret/understand/explain a variety of instructions. These instructions can/will come in multiple forms(written, oral, schedule, diagram).
• Must be able to read a map.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES:

• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus, coordination.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the season.
