Underground Construction Superintendent - Elko, NV

Job Summary: We are seeking a hardworking, experienced professional to serve as an Underground Superintendent. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and executing multi-disciplinary projects as well as establishing a professional working team environment.

This is an hourly position, reporting directly to the Project Manager of Underground Industrial Services of RAM Enterprise, Inc.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:

• Must have a proven record of commitment to Safety
• Obtain quotes from vendors and provide quotations to customers
• Effectively manage multiple open quotations and bring them to order status
• Coordinate the planning, setup, and execution of large and sometimes complex projects
• Design and implement training activities within the Underground construction group
• Perform as a leader with team members
• Develop and maintain working relationships with our customers
• Must be an active listener, recognizing diverse perspectives and be capable of facilitating collaboration
• Ability to confront difficult situations and manages them to a successful conclusion
• Must be dedicated to supporting the team through mentoring, training, and succession planning activities
• Must have a clear understanding of the product lines that we promote and the ability to communicate to customers the features and benefits of each
• Develop annual budget including capital expenditures and sales forecast by customer, including the action plan for implementation
• Clearly understand company profit expectations and the impact of them on monthly financials
• Manage all department materials and inventory
• Manage all department staff including disciplinary measures, performance, training and education
• Manage staffing requirements and department work schedule
• Effectively recruit, hire, train and retain appropriate team members
• Manage weekend and emergency staff coverage
• Provide timely and useful staff performance evaluations
• Other job duties as assigned by management

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years of underground supervisor experience
• A valid driver’s license is required upon hire and as a condition of continued employment.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft platform, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with all personnel
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• Advanced understanding of MSHA and OSHA rules and regulations

Criteria/Conditions:

• Ability to work in various industrial settings, including; shop environment, mining environment, construction environment, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, rick of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
• Ability to safely lift 75-100 lbs. frequently, using proper lifting techniques
• While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
