- Manage shipments from booking at the origin to delivery by sea.
- Communicate expectations to carriers, paying special attention to any specific requirements to ensure they can be met.
- Receive and process various documents for accuracy, which requires operational knowledge of customers, carriers, and procedures.
- Enter operational and customer data into software systems, identify any missing information or potential operational concerns, and communicate with appropriate teams to resolve issues.
- Address various internal and external customer inquiries regarding shipments, billing, status, services, carriers, and other needs, forwarding complex or escalated requests as appropriate.
- Track orders and shipments, assisting with tracing as needed.
- Assist in running and summarizing operational reports and present information to co-workers or supervisors as necessary.
- Interface with airlines, ocean shipping companies, trucking firms, and other related carriers to understand their requirements.
- Assist in preparing information required for quotes and addressing potential services; may provide standard to complex quotes.
- Develop working relationships with internal and external customers, assisting with account management by maintaining customer profiles, details, and service needs.
- Create and process invoices, review them for operational accuracy, and work with customers regarding questions and payment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field.
- Preferred experience in logistics operations, particularly forwarding.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Highly self-motivated individual with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Well-organized and prompt.
- Strong coordination skills and ability to work well with others.
- Proficient in basic Excel spreadsheet usage (daily usage required).
- Must be proficient in English (both spoken and written).
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
