Responsibilities:
- Ensures consistent guest satisfaction by creating an operational environment focused on excellence.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the property, community, and room types.
- Monitors hotel performance through guest satisfaction systems and financial reports, taking corrective action as needed.
- Maintains quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and addressing complaints promptly.
- Executes marketing, sales, and operational activities to achieve or surpass business plan targets.
- Ensures compliance with government regulations governing hotel operations.
- Deals tactfully with the public, guests, employees, and officials.
- Takes full responsibility for managing activities and engages in the overall Sales Effort.
- Maintains community public affairs involvement at an appropriate level.
- Ensures maintenance of equipment according to service standards and resolves outages promptly.
- Provides coverage for Assistant General Manager responsibilities as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Financial Responsibilities:
- Develops accurate long and short-range financial objectives consistent with the company's mission.
- Prepares financial reports that explain operational effectiveness, trends, and variances clearly.
- Manages payroll, timekeeping systems, and accounting processes effectively.
Leadership & Staff Management:
- Supervises 10 to 50 employees, including all department heads, and indirectly supervises all hotel personnel.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, directs, appraises performance, rewards, disciplines, and addresses complaints and problems.
- Establishes and maintains a proactive human resource function to ensure employee motivation, training and development, wage and benefits administration, and compliance with labor regulations.
- Plans, schedules, organizes work, conducts staff meetings, and promotes teamwork and employee morale.
- Assists employees in resolving work problems, initiates personnel actions, and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures.
Safety & Security Responsibilities:
- Ensures employee and guest safety, maintains emergency and security procedures, and implements preventive maintenance programs.
- Practices safety standards, identifies hazardous conditions, and takes corrective action promptly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality/Hotel Management or Business Administration preferred.
- Certified Hospitality Administrator designation preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of work experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional appearance and presentation.
- Proficient in MS Office, Property Management System (PMS) programs, and other relevant software.
- Strong management skills and the ability to work effectively in a stressful environment.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to perform duties such as bending, stooping, standing, walking, lifting weights up to 30 lbs, etc.
