MACHINE OPERATOR

Summary of Position :

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of machinery in a manufacturing or production environment. Your primary duties will include setting up, operating, and monitoring machines to ensure they function properly and produce high-quality products according to specifications. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting any issues that arise during the production process and performing routine maintenance on the machines to keep them in good working condition.

Accountabilities :

Set up machinery according to production specifications, including adjusting settings, loading materials, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
Operate machines during production runs, monitoring performance and making adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality and efficiency.
Conduct regular quality checks on products to ensure they meet standards and make adjustments to the machine settings as needed.
Troubleshoot any issues that arise during production, such as mechanical malfunctions or quality defects, and take appropriate corrective action.
Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
Keep accurate records of production output, machine maintenance, and any issues encountered during production runs.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Good manufacturing procedures (GMPs) must also be strictly followed.
Do other tasks as assigned by his superiors and Quality Assurance from time to time.

Machine operation can involve long hours of standing, lifting, and repetitive motions. Physical stamina and endurance are necessary to sustain productivity and minimize the risk of fatigue-related errors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Machine operators often need good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to manipulate controls, load materials, and perform tasks with precision.

Depending on the equipment being operated, machine operators may need to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, or perform repetitive motions. Good physical strength and stamina are important to handle these tasks safely and effectively.

Machine operators may need to move around the work area, bend, stoop, and reach to access machinery or perform maintenance tasks. May be required to lift heavy objects but not more than 50 lbs.

Qualifications and Skills :

Ability to carefully follow instructions, monitor equipment for signs of malfunction, and ensure products meet quality standards.

Basic understanding of mechanical principles and the ability to troubleshoot minor issues that may arise during operation.

Capacity to quickly identify and address problems that may occur during operation, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Strict adherence to safety guidelines and protocols to minimize risks associated with operating heavy machinery.

Keeping accurate records of production output, machine maintenance, and any incidents or issues that occur during operation.

Ensuring that products meet quality standards by monitoring output, inspecting finished products, and making adjustments as necessary.

Efficiently managing time and prioritizing tasks to meet production quotas and deadlines.
