The Sales Manager at Rambler Motel is a key employee responsible for achieving revenue goals in the Rooms & Food and Beverage Department. This position is responsible for proactively prospecting, facilitating and closing Business Traveler, Government, Group, and Catering opportunities.

We are looking for a Sales Manager who loves the hunt and has a history of meeting and exceeding sales goals. For the right candidate, we will consider part-time employment at an hourly rate.  

What You’ll Be Doing:  


Sales Planning:
 

  • Develop and roll out strategies to hit the hotel’s sales and revenue targets. 
  • Keep an eye on market trends and find new opportunities to bring in business. 
  • Put together promotions or packages that appeal to different types of customers (like business travelers, event planners, or vacationers). 

Building Relationships: 

  • Actively solicit new business by meeting exceeding solicitation call/goals  
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients like corporate accounts, travel agents, and event organizers. 
  • Network at industry events and conferences. 
  • Be the go-to person for clients when they have questions or need assistance. 

Proposals & Presentations: 

  • Create tailored proposals and presentations for potential clients. 
  • Show prospective clients around the hotel and explain the benefits of booking with us. 
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure adherence by both parties.  
  • Create Banquet Event Orders and communicate with relevant departments, assisting where necessary to ensure events are executed well.  

Working with the Team: 

  • Collaborate with marketing, front desk, and operations teams to make sure everything aligns. 
  • Develop working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel/cafe.  

Reporting & Analytics: 

  • Keep records of your sales activities and interactions with clients and provide weekly reporting to management.  
  • Stay on top of competitors’ activities and market shifts. 

Customer Happiness: 

  • Follow up with clients after their events or stays to make sure they’re happy. 
  • Take feedback seriously and use it to improve how we do things. 


What We’re Looking For: 

  • Experience:1-3 years of experience working in the Chula Vista market or other San Diego submarkets. Spanish speaker is a plus to communicate with our clients. Outside sales experience required.  

Skills: 

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills. 
  • Organized and good at managing your time. 
  • Able to spot trends and adjust your approach. 
  • Comfortable using PMS software.  
  • A person who builds lasting relationships easily. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 

Work Details: 

  • Full-time position with flexible hours to meet client needs. Will consider part-time candidates.  
  • A typical schedule would be an alternating Monday-Friday and Tuesday-Saturday schedule.  
  • Occasional travel for client meetings or industry events.

Salary : $68,640 - $72,000
