Your new role

Ramboll is seeking a skilled Natural Resources Economist to provide expertise in environmental economics for our diverse set of clients and projects throughout the U.S. and internationally. As a member of our biodiversity and ecology team you will play a key role in supporting clients with a wide range of environmental issues including biodiversity and ecosystem services naturebased solutions risk and impact assessment and natural resources economics. This job will require travel to field sites conferences and internal meetings. Travel may be national or international and may be up to 15% of your time.

Your key responsibilities will be :

  • Evaluate the economic viability and return on investment for biodiversityrelated initiatives biodiversity net gain and naturebased solutions develop economic models and conduct costbenefit analyses for environmental projects and assist in the monetary valuation of ecosystem services and natural capital accounting.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure economic perspectives are integrated into ecological assessments.
  • Stay up to date with legislation regulations and frameworks affecting natural resources economics such as CSRD and TNFD.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to align biodiversity objectives with economic outcomes and prepare reports and presentations on the economic aspects of environmental projects for clients and key stakeholders.
  • Collect ecological field data to support biodiversity and ecosystem services evaluations naturebased solutions and risk and impact assessment. Experience with GIS tools and environmental databases ecological assessments ecological risk assessment methodologies permitting and environmental impact assessment processes a plus.

About You :

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Economics Environmental Economics Natural Resources Management or a related field.
  • 3 years of professional experience in natural resource economics with a focus on ecosystem services valuation and costbenefits analysis and a proven track record of evaluating investments in biodiversity naturebased solutions and environmental projects.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in economic modeling and statistical analysis and outstanding problemsolving organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex economic concepts into laymans terms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.

    At Ramboll your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting this role is likely to be compensated at an annual base salary between $79000 $112000.  Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range depending on numerous factors including experience geographical location internal equity market conditions education / training and skill level and does not include bonuses overtime or other forms of compensation or benefits.
