This role will be part of a global procurement organization with a mission to drive category strategy across Rambus, be the trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, and be the professional external representative for Rambus to the supply base. Cost reduction will be a critical KPI, but the individual in this role will also be expected to influence the direction of the organization, improve overall total cost of ownership of indirect supply, help improve profit margin of all current and future Rambus products, and exemplify effectiveness, strategic thinking, and relationship management.
Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for the majority of our office-based roles. We encourage employees to spend an average of at least three days per week working onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.
Responsibilities
- Be the category manager for IT hardware and software, professional services, facilities, and other general procurement needs.
- Take ownership of the development and implementation of the indirect procurement category strategies, including projects related but not limited to cost reduction initiatives, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Be accountable for the negotiation strategies for your category, including all of the negotiation preparation, internal alignment of the strategy, and execution of the strategy.
- Be the primary contact for the IT team, as well as the business units for all procurement needs related to IT hardware and software.
- Lead a quarterly meeting to update the executive team on the status against IT savings objectives.
- Help improve and drive best-in-class procurement processes and drive strategic initiatives aligned with corporate goals.
- Manage supplier performance & conduct supplier evaluation including action plans in key areas of Cost, Technology, Reliability, Assurance of Supply, Quality, etc.
- Lead supplier management processes for identification, qualification, and performance management of global strategic supplier base including new supplier development.
- Partner with and guide business owners with activities including, but not limited to identifying the procurement requirements, developing RFI / RFPs, selecting, and onboarding suppliers.
- Lead price negotiations and work with the legal and business owners to review commercial agreements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including business units, finance, legal, engineering, and management for escalation issues.
- Analyze and leverage data analytics to enable business and procurement strategies aligned to business priorities.

Rambus offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, bonus, equity, matching 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, comprehensive medical and dental benefits, time-off program, and gym membership.
The US salary range for this full-time position is $103,000 to $185,400.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
