Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Fitness Instructor to join our dynamic team. As a Fitness Instructor, you will lead engaging workout sessions, provide personalized fitness guidance, and foster a motivating environment for all participants.
Duties
- Conduct individual and group fitness classes, ensuring sessions are safe, effective, and enjoyable.
- Develop tailored fitness programs based on clients' goals, abilities, and preferences.
- Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and body mechanics to prevent injuries.
- Monitor clients' progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their performance.
- Promote fitness programs and services to encourage participation and retention.
- Maintain a clean and organized workout environment.
- Stay updated on the latest fitness trends, techniques, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Current nationally recognized group fitness certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, etc.)
- Valid CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
- 6 months experience leading group fitness classes
- Strong communication, punctuality, and professionalism
- U.S. citizenship required
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safe, effective, and motivating group fitness classes
- Provide modifications and guidance based on individual ability
- Maintain certification(s) and provide proof of current CPR/AED training
- Collaborate with base personnel to promote fitness and readiness
- Support morale and wellness initiatives through group instruction
Preferred:
- Prior experience working with military or government fitness programs
- Specialty certifications (Yoga, Zumba, Functional Training, HIIT, etc.)
Skills
- Strong knowledge of body mechanics and exercise physiology.
- Experience in sports coaching or personal training is preferred.
- Proficiency in various fitness disciplines such as CrossFit, yoga, kickboxing, dance, or gym workouts.
- Ability to design effective fitness programs tailored to diverse client needs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Background in fitness sales or health club operations is a plus.
- A passion for promoting health and wellness within the community.
