Expanded Learning Assistant I (Multiple Sites)

4Positions Available: Hanson Elementary – 1 position Mt. Woodson Elementary – 1 position Barnett Elementary – 2 positions Minimum Qualifications: ~ High school diploma or equivalent. ~ One (1) year of paid or volunteer experience working with children in a special educational setting or child care setting is highly desirable and/or supplement by courses in child care, supervision, psychology or guidance; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. ~ Requirements: a) Verification of two years of college and/or 48 semester units demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing the core areas of reading, writing, and mathematics b) Possession of an Associate’s Degree or possession of a Bachelor’s Degree demonstrating knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing the core areas of reading, writing, and mathematics c) If the applicant does not have a or b listed above then they must Pass the District Paraprofessional proficiency examination (which is a formal state or local academic assessment).
