JOB OVERVIEW:
The Controller is a compliance-focused, data loving role responsible for accurate, timely processing of accounting transactions and collaborating with other departments. You’ll be part of a team with high ambitions and expectations, building a business in the competitive medical technology space. We have a small accounting team, and this is a hands-on role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Consistently models the core values of the company both internally and externally.
- Openly commit to and support company processes and systems.
- Understand and follow the processes of the Rampart Quality System
- Bookkeeping, Accounting and Financial Reporting
•Lead monthly financial close process and prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
•Prepare monthly financial reports to leadership, providing proactive advice and trend analysis, and monitoring.
•Process cash receipts and disbursements daily.
•Process accounts payable weekly, ensuring vendors are paid on time.
•Prepare cash, accounts receivable and accounts payable reconciliations monthly.
•Prepare and process sales and other local tax returns.
•Research and resolve any accounting discrepancies or differences, as applicable.
•Other special projects as assigned.
•Work efficiently within the company’s selected ERP system
•Assist HR processes where needed with both payroll and employee tax
- Systems and Processes
Assist with dashboard development for KPIs.
Maintain accounting process manuals in electronic format and update as needed.
- Team Management
Establish quarterly priorities and goals for accounting team, consistently lead meetings with the team.
Oversee Accounting Assistant and provide mentorship
Work collaboratively with other departments, including sales and operations.
Work with outside accounting firm and consultants
Manage external vendor relationships, including banking.
- Leadership
Demonstrate high levels of technical excellence, work ethic and professionalism.
Treat employees, vendors and customers with respect and a friendly demeanor.
- Any other duty as required by supervisor.
KEY METRIC & PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Timely financial statement reporting
- Management and variance reporting of performance to annual budget
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 7 years of relevant accounting and management experience
- Degree in Accounting required; CPA or MBA is a plus
- 5 years of experience working with an ERP system
•Experience with Acumatica ERP system is a plus
- Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
- Ability to work effectively with a team and independently
- Must communicate effectively and have good time management skills in a fast-paced environment

- Communication Skills: Must be able to read and write clearly to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work may include extended periods of time viewing a computer monitor and/or operating a keyboard.
- Work may include extending periods of time standing and sitting.
