The HVAC Counter Sales Representative is responsible for increasing sales and ensuring customer satisfaction by assisting return customers, walk-ins, and telephone customers with product selection and order processing. This role also involves warehousing responsibilities, merchandising, and participating in sales promotions to drive revenue growth.Job Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service at the counter, via phone, and through electronic communication.
- Accurately process customer orders in the system and prioritize regular accounts.
- Utilize electronic and published catalogs to provide product, pricing, and availability information.
- Follow company pricing and credit guidelines.
- Quickly resolve customer problems and handle complaints professionally.
- Retrieve orders from the warehouse accurately and efficiently.
- Increase sales and average order size through cross-selling, up-selling, and promotional sales.
- Promote and sell overages, damaged, and discontinued items.
- Maintain clean and attractive merchandising and counter areas.
- Keep counter area inventory stocked and remove discontinued items from the sales floor.
- Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts.
- Drive sales activity through outbound sales calls as directed by management.
- Work with other departments to resolve customer service issues in a timely manner.
- Accurately use order entry, computerized systems, and other technologies as required.
- Pull, fill, pack, and set up orders for delivery and pickup.
- Maintain the ability to determine order status at any given time.
- Follow special instructions pertaining to orders.
- Receive shipments, log inventory, and maintain inventory accuracy through audits.
- Report quality or inventory discrepancy issues to the appropriate person.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, sales staff, coworkers, and customers.
- Operate a forklift safely and maintain required certification.
- Perform vehicle safety checks and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Ensure the facility remains clean, neat, safe, and operates efficiently.
- Attend product knowledge meetings and company-sponsored training sessions.
