Ramsey Golf & Country Club is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. Key Responsibilities:
- Sushi Preparation & Presentation: Prepare high-quality sushi, sashimi, and maki rolls with precision and artistry, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
- Ingredient Sourcing & Quality Control: Select and inspect fish and seafood for freshness, maintaining proper storage and handling of ingredients.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative and seasonal sushi offerings, incorporating both traditional and contemporary flavors.
- Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring all kitchen areas, tools, and ingredients meet health regulations.
- Efficiency & Workflow Management: Ensure smooth kitchen operations during service, managing mise en place, and coordinating with kitchen staff.
- Customer Engagement: Interact with guests when appropriate, providing insights on sushi selections and ensuring a memorable dining experience.
- Cost & Inventory Management: Monitor ingredient usage, minimize waste, and manage food costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Training & Leadership: Guide and train kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and food safety practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Sushi Chef in a high-volume or fine dining establishment.
- Deep knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi techniques, and seafood handling.
- Strong knife skills and expertise in filleting fish, preparing rice, and creating precise sushi cuts.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Creativity and passion for evolving sushi trends and menu innovation.
