Job Summary for Director of Finance:
Reporting to the President, the Director of Finance will be responsible for leading the finance function, ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The Director of Finance will play a critical role in overseeing financial reporting, tax compliance, and multi-state regulatory adherence while serving as a key partner to senior leadership. The Director of Finance role requires a hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day finance operations, support M&A integration efforts, and develop a high-performing finance team.
Responsibilities of the Director of Finance include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
- Oversee all compliance matters related to tax, state regulations, and financial reporting in various jurisdictions where services are provided.
- Act as a key strategic partner to senior leadership, providing financial insights and support in decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior leadership stakeholders, ensuring alignment with financial performance goals, reporting requirements, and growth strategies.
- Implement and monitor compliance with internal controls (including segregation of duties), policies, and procedures to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Play an active role in M&A activities including due diligence and integration efforts related to acquisitions as part of the roll-up strategy.
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.[KB1] [PR2]
- Lead the three-statement budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities across the US business units to drive profitability and growth.
- Develop financial and operational models to support the business needs
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and systems, implementing technological solutions as needed.
- Prepare financial presentations and reports for executive leadership
- Monitor key financial metrics, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Management of the annual audit process
- Work closely with operational leaders to optimize costs and drive efficiency across the organization.
- Manage cash flow across several entities, tracking performance compared to KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with debt covenants, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
- Build and scale a high-performing finance team as the company grows.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications for Director of Finance:
- CPA or CMA designation required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar programs
- 7 years in a senior financial leadership role with a strong understanding of investor relations and financial reporting.
- Experience with a “roll-up strategy”, including due diligence, M&A integration, and financial consolidation.
- Deep knowledge of multi-state tax compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience in hiring and developing finance professionals.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and drive financial excellence.
