Description
We are looking for a responsible Receiving Clerk to receive, inspect and record shipments with raw material or products. You will be responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the purchase orders. A receiving clerk must have a great eye for detail and basic math skills. They must also have adequate physical strength to unload shipments as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers. The goal is to ensure we receive the correct packages, accurately update inventory lists and create the appropriate and corresponding inventory receipt.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Keep new merchandise received organized and accessible
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
- Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified
- Work as part of a fast, funand friendly backroom team
- Quickly and accurately respond to merchandise requests
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
- Any other duties that are assigned by management
Knowledge, Education, Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position
- A high school diploma or G.E.D is mandatory or equivalent work experience
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Strong proficiency in mathematics
- Strong communication skills that help to develop courteous conversation with the suppliers
- Keen eye for detail
