What You'll Do
- Extract and structure relevant information from scientific literature, online resources, and data repositories
- Clean, harmonize, and catalog assay, clinical trial, and other biomedical data/metadata according to data standards
- Align data to ontologies and controlled vocabularies
- Contribute to the development of new data standards, models, terminologies, and ontologies
- Communicate progress, insights, and strategies to team members and clients
- Ensure quality control and continuous improvement in curation processes
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, curators, and stakeholders
- Deliver clear, engaging, and impactful presentations
Must-Haves:
- MD or PhD in Biology or related field. Bachelor's and Master's degree will be considered with 3-5 years relevant experience
- Familiarity with public data repositories (e.g., GEO, SRA, AE)
- Experience with oncology, immunology, neurology, aging, or patient-generated datasets (clinical, observational)
- Understanding of data standards, semantics, terminologies, and ontologies
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical thinking and scientific data interpretation skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to meet deadlines
- Comfortable learning new software and working in a remote, fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of cancer staging, pathology, and treatment options-especially combination therapies
- Understanding of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data principles
- Familiarity with therapeutic and treatment options, especially combination therapies for oncology
- Exposure to public biomedical ontologies and standards (e.g., OMOP, CDISC (SDTM), NCIT, MedDRA, MeSH, LOINC, UBERON, RxNorm, DOID)
- Software knowledge of R, Python, Perl and/or html
- Experience leading projects, delegating tasks, and managing budgets
