Job Description: HS Assistant Football Coach -OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR
Title: Assistant Coach - OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR (Seasonal)
Supervisor: Head Coach & Athletics Director
Classification: Non-exempt
Job Description:
The Assistant Coach- OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR has responsibilities as indicated by the Head Coach, while abiding by the rules and regulations established by the California Interscholastic Federation, the League, and Rancho Community Church & Schools. The assistant coach shall support the implementation of an exemplary football program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student-athlete.
Spiritual Qualifications:
- Demonstrate a passion for Christ and his Kingdom through personal spiritual discipline.
- Seek to grow in that relationship with Christ through personal spiritual discipline, education, accountability and service to his Kingdom.
Professional Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 2 years coaching experience at any level.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of the sport and awareness of the rules of the California Interscholastic Federation.
- Support player development.
- Possess strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment of seeking to grow in these areas, through additional training.
- Hold CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Have proof of negative TB screening within the last four years
- Education: Bachelor’s preferred
Areas of Expected Proficiency:
- Demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and conduct becoming of the coaching profession adhering to all school and professional sport association guidelines.
- Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury
- Models sportsmanship and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators as well as nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
- Build a culture of connection & Christian fellowship with team members and staff.
Other Expectations:
- Knowledge of CIF rules and regulations preferred.
- Promote positive interaction with and among the student-athletes, the school, church and community.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning.
- Encourage self-direction and self-motivation in all athletes
- Must have good oral and written communication skills, organizational and management skills.
- Must be friendly, cooperative, flexible, tactful, dependable and work in a collaborative manner with multiple departments, offices and staff members.
- Must be able to deal with discretion in confidential and sensitive issues, problem solve and work independently.
- Ability to work well with a wide range of situations (including difficult people), while maintaining the decorum of a representative of a Christian school.
- It is possible that this position may change or evolve as time moves on. Full cooperation is required as we strive to make our athletic department a great success.
Requirements:
- Experience preferred
- Successfully pass Live Scan criminal background check prior to hire
- Obtain certificate of negative result for TB screening prior to hire
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certified
- NFHS Concussion Certification
- NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certification
- NFHS Heat Illness Prevention
