What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Shop Assistant position at Rancho Del Sol Golf Club?
MUST HAVE WORKED AT A GOLF COURSE or BE IN THE PGA Program.
Position Summary: Under the supervision of senior management, this position assists in golf operations and the supervision of outside service staff while maintaining an atmosphere of total hospitality.
Essential Duties:
· Ensures that golf shop is prepared for daily business and is clean always.
· Performs daily opening and closing procedures.
· Ensures all phone calls are handled in a professional manner.
· Assists guests with booking tee times.
· Assists guests with golf check in, collect fees and merchandise sales.
· Ensures that all guests are checked in on the tee sheet.
· Communicates to the starter all cancellations and additions to the tee sheet.
· Communicates with the starter and host concerning turn and completion times.
· Assists with the merchandise receiving, pricing, stocking, and display.
· Becomes fully knowledgeable about every product sold in the golf shop.
· Assists all tournaments and their needs.
· Assists all Men and Ladies’ Club events, and ensure they are conducted professionally.
· Assists all Junior programs, and ensure they are conducted professionally.
· Assists outside service staff when necessary.
· Assists the fore-caddie and caddie programs.
· Learns and follows all safety procedures.
· Maintains personal grooming and appearance standards.
· Performs any other duties that are necessary for a successful operation.
Qualification Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent; six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures. Ability to write reports and effectively present information and respond to guests from groups, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf and golf etiquette.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feels objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this include close vision, distance visions, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
