A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE
As the Director of Maintenance, you'll be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department. You should review maintenance requests and coordinate routine maintenance of grounds. You'll conduct daily tours of the facility for safety surveillance to monitor potentially unsafe work areas, equipment and practices and ensure compliance of Life Safety regulations governing the skilled nursing facilities. You'll be expected to use your knowledge and skills of plumbing, electrical, roofing and carpentry in the implementation of repair projects and preventive maintenance schedules.
With patience and a calm demeanor, you treat those you care for just the way you would want your own family members treated. You go home each day feeling good about the positive impact you have made in the lives of so many in your community.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR
- Previous management experience
- Previous maintenance experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred
