What are the responsibilities and job description for the 7th Grade Science Teacher position at Rancho Solano Preparatory School?
Rancho Solano Preparatory School is seeking a highly qualified and passionate middle school science teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position is full-time 7th grade, and the teacher will also serve as a 7th grade advisor and club sponsor. The topics covered in 7th grade science are introduction to chemistry, space science, earth science, and physics.
The teacher will participate in staff meetings, have weekly duties, engage in pedagogical trainings, and chaperone events/trips.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of teaching experience
- Adaptability and willingness to deliver established, proven, rigorous curriculum provided by the school
- AZ Teaching Certificate preferred but not required
- At minimum, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Ability to design curriculum and implement lessons with student-centered principles
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom of multi-level learners
- Ability to be flexible and collaborate effectively
- Communicate with parents and lead parent-student-teacher meetings to facilitate progress in and outside of the classroom
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S
- Ability to plan and facilitate hands-on and engaging lessons
Responsibilities:
- Create a positive learning community
- Support the intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth in children
- Know the strengths and areas of improvement for each child and make growth plans
- Design or improve on science curriculum into developmentally appropriate, student-centered, and inquiry-based learning
- Plan course content and methods of instruction
- Lead an advisory class
- Help chaperone events and academic trips
- Provide office hours after school for student support
- Sponsor or Co-Sponsor at least one club on campus
- Collaborate on best practices with the Science Department
