Position Summary
The Operations Manager manages people, processes, and systems, in coordination with supervisors and leads, to ensure facility productivity and quality targets are met. They foster a culture of continuous improvement and inclusivity, consistently motivating and leading associates toward success and teamwork. They champion safety and environmental initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive work culture. Motivate and develop associates toward both individual and team success while enforcing company performance standards and goals.
- Maintain a safe working environment adhering to health and safety regulations. Promote safety training and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures. Address safety concerns promptly.
- Oversee the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and/or product shipment. Coordinate with other departments/facilities to achieve facility goals. Monitor inventory control procedures and systems to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Streamline processes to improve productivity and quality results. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Promote associate involvement in process improvement and problem-solving.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures and control expenses to stay within budget.
- Engage with supervisors/leads to set expectations, monitor associate performance, coach for improvement, and discipline in accordance with company policies. Resolve routine associate issues independently and involve Human Resources and upper management when an issue escalates or is particularly unique or complex.
- Promote sustainability initiatives and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Associate's degree or Bachelor’s degree in logistics or a related field, or the equivalent in experience
- Required: Five or more years experience in distribution/warehouse operations
- Required: At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of material handling and fulfillment center operations, methods, and practices.
- Technical knowledge as it relates to raw materials and finished goods manufacturing
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office Products, Adobe Suite, Illustrator, and Photoshop a plus
- Knowledge of Product Development Cycle Management such as PLM or similar program
- Excellent presentation skills for internal and external customers
- Ability to lead people and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and associate relations
- Experience leading pay-for-performance production environments preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members, co-workers and other departments both verbally and in writing
- Team-oriented, excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrates commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities
- Displays a sense of urgency and attention to detail with a customer service focus
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
