Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000
Position Summary:
The Merchandiser is responsible for developing seasonal line plan architecture for their area of responsibility (AOR), primarily Men's Leather Accessories, and oversees full life-cycle development for the upcoming season. This job may oversee different brand(s) (approximately one to two brand(s)) and may also manage Assistant Merchandisers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Review previous sales performance with the sales team, analyze trends, and present recommendations for the new season.
- Collaborate with the Design team to develop the seasonal line by providing direction on styles and colors.
- Manage presentation preparation by working with the sales team to meet requirements. This includes pulling actual products for key account meetings, market weeks, and trade shows.
- Process adoptions by completing style setups in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), conducting handoff meetings with Sourcing Coordinators, and verifying all product details and quotes.
- Own and manage the calendar workflow to ensure the timely completion of all seasonal milestones and crucial presentations.
- Conduct follow-ups with suppliers through daily email communications regarding questions, sample status, costing, resourcing, and adoptions.
- Coordinate with factories to develop prototypes, review prototypes, and ensure they are made according to specifications.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Education/License Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising or equivalent degree/experience
General Experience Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in merchandising of consumer products, design, or product development
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities (e.g. software proficiency, language, project management):
- Technical knowledge as it relates to raw materials and finished goods manufacturing
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office Products, Adobe Suite, Illustrator, and Photoshop a plus
- Knowledge of Product Development Cycle Management such as PLM or similar program
- Excellent presentation skills for internal and external customers
Working Conditions/Physical Demands (e.g. lifting 50 lbs., travel requirements):
- Ability to travel frequently on domestic and international trips (25% - 30%), previous experience traveling overseas is a plus.
- Must be able to receive, lift, open, and unpack boxes containing product samples
