DUTIES: Serve as the Chief Student Success Officer and advise the President of the College on matters related to Student Success.Shape an engaging student experience in all areas of Student Success by providing leadership and oversight for the development, management, assessment, and quality improvement including: student recruitment and retention; enrollment management; admissions; placement/testing; orientation; registration and records; financial aid; student activities and organizations; career development; counseling; due process Title IX, Veteran’s Affairs; the Student Services Center; and the Welcome Center.Collaborate with other members of the President’s Cabinet as a strategic thought-partner to develop and implement a wide range of cross-functional strategic and operational initiatives. Focus on fostering a culture of belonging and institutional pride by supporting data-driven programs that enhance the student experience, therefore promoting student engagement and retention. Establish and maintain positive relationships in the community to include students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and trustees to support the College’s ability to fulfill its mission.Develop, refine, implement, and evaluate strategies to meet institutional goals for: enrollment, persistence, graduation, transfer, placement, and the changing needs of the RCC student body. Provide effective intervention and resolution for students facing barriers to their success; responsible for student outreach, follow-up, and support surrounding student-related crises. Administer the College’s Student Code of Conduct and act as the student conduct officer, adjudicating student disciplinary matters when required. Act as an advocate and mediator for student concerns/issues and as an agent in promoting positive institutional change.Implement and maintain policies and procedures that ensure legal compliance with FERPA, Title IX, etc.; facilitate due process procedures to ensure an environment conducive to the educational process.Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information pertaining to students, supervisors, and other employees. Coordinate with college leadership to ensure timely and appropriate compliance with NC rules and regulations, accreditation bodies, Department of Education (DOE), and/or other regulatory requirements that impact student and enrollment services including, but not limited to, admissions, records, financial aid, and testing. Recommend policies and procedures to the President to improve student life, promote learning, and provide students with appropriate support.Responsible for planning and logistics for the College’s annual graduation ceremony.Collaborate with the Randolph Early College High School Principal to interpret and uphold the student code of conduct policies and procedures as it relates to the College.Develop and administer the Student Success annual budget and oversee fiscal management and strategic planning to include external grants. Prepare and administer grants aligned with strategic planning goals. Participate in special projects that benefit the college or that respond to external constituent requests. Provide executive oversight to college-wide initiatives, leading projects to enhance enrollment, student success, and service excellence, and drives continuous improvement through data-informed decision-making, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Establish priorities for Student Success staff members, review staff performances annually, recognize staff successes, and counsel staff as appropriate regarding performance and conduct. Provide leadership for the recruitment, selection for employment, development, and retention of all assigned full-time and part-time staff.Ensure availability of professional development opportunities for Student Success staff, with a focus on mentoring and building leaders. Make presentations at local and national conferences. Lead by example to promote positivity, growth mindset, personal and professional ethics, and respect for human dignity
