Job description
Summary: Provides compassionate services that strengthen the well-being and safety of victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child maltreatment. Directs information, advocacy, and supportive services that allow individuals and families to make informed decisions.
Qualifications:
- Ability to empathize and work with abused women, children, and men.
- Experience in crisis intervention.
- Education in the areas of Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault/Human Trafficking is preferred.
- High degree of organizational skills and problem solving skills.
- Articulates ideas clearly (both written and orally), listens accurately, and establishes personal rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds.
- Displays thorough understanding of personal strengths and limitations.
- High sense of urgency and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in stressful conditions, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Knowledge of social services delivery systems, inter agency coordination, and effective communication skills.
- Two years of experience in a human service or related field.
- Two years of post-secondary education in Criminal Justice, Social Work or related human service field, preferred but not required.
- Responsibilities:
- Primary Responsibilities
- Manage 24-hour Crisis Line.
- Complete shelter intakes.
- Provide shelter coverage.
- Enter intakes/statistical reports into database system by the end of each shift.
- Ensure that the shelter is orderly which may include light lifting, sorting of donations, cleaning and organizing.
- Collaborate with program partners, including the government fiscal agency, to ensure proper management control.
- Network with the criminal justice system personnel to ensure the best possible services for clients.
- Refer clients to agency case manager/social worker.
- Keep accurate records of client contacts.
- Promote a positive image of RCFCC by ensuring an understanding of program services available, publicizing activities and accomplishments, and conducting oneself according to a professional code of ethics.
- Follow up with victims as related to Domestic Violence/Sexual Assaults.
- Administrative Duties as needed.
- Manage and distribute community donations appropriately.
Expected Hours of Work:
Nights-version of 3rdshift (awake position)
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Maintains physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following: walking, bending, stretching, lifting, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, operating assigned equipment.
- Ability to work flexible/overtime hours, as needed.
- Requires valid NC driver’s license and ability to travel between various agency sites and community resources.
