Maintenance Technician I

Performs intermediate to advanced skilled work in the maintenance and repair of County buildings and facilities, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the minimal supervision of the Maintenance Foreman and Public Buildings Director and is evaluated through observation and quality of work.

Minimum Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED and five to ten years of direct experience in building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC or mechanical work in a similar role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to work on short notice, weekends, holidays, and/or inclement weather. Must obtain Universal Refrigerant Certification within 60 days of employment. Preference is given to applicants who are licensed HVAC Mechanics or who have extensive experience/knowledge in HVAC installations and repairs. Test - A skills assessment may be required during the interview process.

We are excited to inform you Randolph County has an Employee Wellness Clinic that is open to County employees, retirees, spouses and dependents ages 2 and up on the Randolph County Government health plan available on-site with no copay. Well-Being Hotline available to employees, their spouses, and dependents age 17 years and younger living at home. Services include professional counseling, therapy, and mental health services from board-licensed therapists. 13 paid holidays, 12 sick days, and 12 vacation days a year. That's 37 paid days a year, totaling almost 2 months of paid time off.

We will match an employee's voluntary 401(k) contribution, up to 2% of salary (Sworn LEO excluded). Deductions occur each pay period. Enrollment in the State Retirement Plan by contributing 6%. We provide a $10,000 Life and AD&D benefit to eligible employees. Flexible spending accounts (FSA) allow you to set aside tax-free dollars for health care and dependent care. Voluntary Life, AD&D, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability.
