What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician I position at Randolph County Government?
Performs intermediate to advanced skilled work in the maintenance and repair of County buildings and facilities, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the minimal supervision of the Maintenance Foreman and Public Buildings Director and is evaluated through observation and quality of work.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED and five to ten years of direct experience in building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC or mechanical work in a similar role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to work on short notice, weekends, holidays, and/or inclement weather. Must obtain Universal Refrigerant Certification within 60 days of employment. Preference is given to applicants who are licensed HVAC Mechanics or who have extensive experience/knowledge in HVAC installations and repairs. Test - A skills assessment may be required during the interview process.
