About This Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Randolph County School System as a Custodian. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our schools, ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained and ready for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Secure building; take out the trash, clean bathrooms, hallways, classrooms, and the gym
* Mop and buff the halls; vacuum in carpeted areas
* Clean the cafeteria after school activities
* Change lights; fill all paper towel dispensers, and toilet paper dispensers
* Clean and dust high and low, clean white boards, wipe clean student desks, empty trash cans
* Clean all the bathroom stalls and sinks, fill toilet paper dispensers, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, sweep and mop the floors, wipe down the walls
* Sweep, mop, vacuum, buff, and strip floors; wipe down all the walls
* Clean gym, sweep and spot mop, clean water fountains, and clean up after activities
* Set up and pick up chairs, clean, sweep and pick up all trash
* Replace lights on a daily basis for inside and outside of the school building
* Assist when other custodial staff members are absent
* Interact appropriately and courteously with administrators, faculty, staff, students and central office staff
* Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Custodian, Principal or Assistant Principal
Requirements
* GED, High School diploma, or some high school or middle school attendance
* Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
* Valid driver's license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience as a custodian in a public school setting
* Experience working and interacting appropriately with students, teachers, and other school staff
* Able to obtain a North Carolina Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with school bus certification and P&S endorsements
