Randolph-Macon College, a private, co-educational liberal arts institution, invites applications for a full-time Annual Leadership Giving Officer. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, this position is key in advancing the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship programs within the Annual Giving Department. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Annual Giving in the execution of a comprehensive, strategic solicitation plan aimed at meeting Annual Fund goals, focusing on specific alumni groups or decades as assigned.
  • Build relationships with prospective donors through face-to-face, virtual, and phone meetings to secure gifts ranging from $1,000 to $25,000. The position requires a minimum of 180 face-to-face donor visits per year (roughly 15 per month).
  • Manage an established portfolio of alumni and approximately 25 major gift prospects, focusing on cultivating and soliciting contributions through regular in-person interactions.
  • Foster long-term relationships with donors, working collaboratively with the Advancement team, including the Director of Annual Giving, frontline fundraisers, and support staff.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit leadership annual giving prospects to grow the Presidents Society ($1,500 ).
  • Assist in fundraising efforts for key campus projects.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of key volunteers, including class agents, to support annual giving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Annual Giving to develop strategies, manage logistics, and execute key events like "Macon Day," ensuring alignment with broader departmental goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of demonstrated success in fundraising are required. 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to articulate persuasive messages effectively in writing and verbal presentations. 
  • Proficiency in computer databases and word processing software. Strong ability to recruit, manage, and inspire volunteers. 
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record by insurance standards. 
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
