Randolph-Macon College seeks applications for a full-time Farm / Stable Worker to work at its RMC Equestrian Center. This is a 12-month, mandatory live-on position with housing provided. The Center is located three miles from our Ashland campus, boasts 70 acres of pasture, has space for 56 horses, and includes an indoor riding arena, two large outdoor areas, and space for riding outside.
Responsibilities :
- Primary duties include assisting with the daily care of all horses and ponies stabled or kept on premises, owned by the college, boarded or on lease. This includes handling of horses bringing in and turning out, feeding, watering, blanketing and observing horses for injury or illness and maintaining the cleanliness of the barn and surrounding property.
- Secondary duties include basic farm work : overall care and presentation of facility, fence repair, cutting grass, weed eating, ring maintenance, trash removal, etc.
