Randolph-Macon College, a private, co-educational liberal arts institution, invites applications for a full-time Field and Clinical Placement Coordinator. Reporting to the Chair of the Education Department and collaborating closely with Director of Teacher Licensure and Accreditation, the Field and Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating field and clinical placements for students in the education program. This role involves collaborating with educational institutions, clinical sites, and students to ensure successful placement experiences that align with program objectives and accreditation standards.  This is a 10-month Staff with Faculty Rank position which runs from August 1 to May 31st each academic year. Position will begin immediately upon a successful hire.   

Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Functions as an integral part of the department, participating in department meetings, data meetings, and external partner meetings
  • Teaches 10-12 hours per year, determined in consultation with the department chair.
  • Works with the Department Chair to administer the Department’s Professional Development Workshop program. 

 Clinical Placement Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with partner schools, clinical sites, and other educational institutions.
  • Coordinate the placement process, including matching students with appropriate field and clinical sites.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of placements, ensuring they meet program and accreditation requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to students throughout their placement experiences.
  • Conduct site visits and evaluations to ensure compliance with program standards.
  • Facilitate communication between students, faculty, and placement sites.
  • Maintain accurate records of placements, evaluations, and student progress.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the placement experience for students.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in field and clinical placements.
  • Conducts field and clinical mentorship trainings for host teachers; maintains all documentation and websites associated with field & clinical training
  • Maintains relationships with teachers upon completion of mentorship training 
  • Collects, organizes and shares data regarding placement effectiveness and provides feedback to district partners as necessary;   

 Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field; Doctoral degree preferred
  • Experience in education, preferably in a field or clinical placement role.
  • Experience teaching in K-12 and higher education
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and external partners.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and educational requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and student placement software.
  • Ability to create online trainings, courses, and other resources. 

 Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with educational technology and online learning platforms.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
