Randolph-Macon College, a private, co-educational liberal arts institution, invites applications for Part-Time, Temporary (10 hours per week, January-May 2025) Inclusive Engagement Program Assistant. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Associate Dean of Students, this position will play a critical role in supporting programming aimed at enhancing student success. The position will provide support for First Generation Students and deliver Inclusive Engagement Programming. This position is grant-funded and will focus on creating and facilitating initiatives that foster belonging, academic achievement, and personal growth. The Program Assistant will work closely with the Inclusive Engagement team to ensure the successful execution of these efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of Inclusive Engagement programming, with a particular emphasis on First Generation Students.
- Collaborate with campus partners to create workshops, events, and resources that support academic, social, and professional development for students.
- Help evaluate program effectiveness by collecting feedback and assessing student engagement and success outcomes.
- Support outreach efforts to engage and connect students with relevant resources and opportunities across campus.
- Contribute to marketing efforts through social media, newsletters, and other platforms to promote events and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong interest or background in diversity, equity, and inclusion work, particularly related to student success for First Generation students.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a small team.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with event planning or programming is a plus.
- Familiarity with higher education environments, particularly small liberal arts institutions, preferred.
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a higher education degree program is a plus.
Work Hours:
Approximately 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling based on program needs. Evening or weekend hours may be required for events or preferred by the applicant. This position is funded through a specific grant and is temporary, with employment from January to May.
