What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Faculty position at Randolph-Macon College?
Randolph-Macon College (RMC) invites applications for full-time, part-time, and adjunct faculty in the Department of Nursing to teach during the 2025-2026 academic year. All classroom, lab, and clinical teaching is in person on the RMC campus or at clinical sites in the metro Richmond region. Applicants with clinical expertise in all areas are invited to apply to join our team. Tenure track and clinical track options are available for full-time positions.
Faculty are provided individualized mentorship for success as an educator and as part of a faculty team in meeting the mission of our department, ”to provide a transformative education grounded in the liberal arts to develop resilient nurse leaders prepared to practice innovatively within a dynamic healthcare environment.” Our BSN program fully integrates Apple technology products for a student-centered learning experience which produces quality practice-ready new graduates.
Minimum Faculty Qualifications:
- Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or multistate licensure, Virginia eligible;
- A master's degree in nursing;
- Clinical expertise in a specific clinical nursing area (medical/surgical, adult health, women’s health, pediatrics, mental health, population health).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- PhD or DNP preferred for full-time faculty positions.
Faculty in the Department of Nursing are required to:
- Facilitate learning, evaluate and coach students in the classroom, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical settings to promote student success;
- Support the departmental mission centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality teaching/learning experiences;
- Communicate effectively with course coordinators, faculty, assistant director, and director to achieve course and program outcomes; and
- Demonstrate the core values of caring, civility, inclusivity, excellence, and integrity.
