This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, organized, and energetic candidate to join a growing team of PA educators and dedicated staff in the Department of PA Studies. This position is a 12-month appointment with academic rank. Effort is flexible, from 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) up to 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) is available. As a principal faculty member with responsibilities in the preclinical and clinical phases of the Program, the individual will work alongside program personnel to support ARC-PA compliance, participate in didactic coursework and student evaluation, recruit and retain clinical preceptors, provide faculty development to the clinical preceptors, and perform ongoing site monitoring at each Supervised Clinical Practice Experience (SCPE) site. - A master's degree relevant to graduate medical education (MMSc, MPAS, MEd, or comparable)
- 3 years of clinical practice experience
- Board certification (without interruption) and a Virginia medical license or other state license and eligibility for Virginia license
- The ability to obtain and maintain professional liability insurance coveragePreferred qualifications :
- A doctoral degree relevant to graduate medical education (DHSc, EdD, DMSc, PhD, MD, DO, or comparable)
- Previous experience in PA education
- ARC-PA or other accreditation knowledge and experience
- Research experience
- Publications in scientific journalsBenefits : This position is a 12-month appointment with academic rank. Effort is variable, 20-40 hours per week. Salary and benefits commensurate with effort, experience, and qualifications. Overall compensation is highly-competitive based on the latest (2024) PAEA metrics.
