What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Custodian/Building Maintenance Person position at Randolph Public School District?
The Night Building Maintenance person will perform maintenance and repair tasks on school and municipal buildings requiring a variety of skills of less than journeyman level in carpentry, painting, plumbing and other skilled trades. Other duties may include repairing window screens, keeping grounds in order, receiving and storing supplies, etc.
Requirements:
Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used and the safety precautions to be taken in performing custodial or janitorial work, including:
• Proper use of custodial supplies (synthetic detergents, soaps, scouring powders, waxes, etc.) and the proper techniques in using them on various kinds of floors, walls, toilet-room equipment, furniture and other building furnishings and equipment
• Operation and care of custodial equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor machines, floor brushes, sweeping mops, etc.) and low-pressure heating systems and ventilating equipment low-pressure heating systems and ventilating equipment
• Knowledge of the care of buildings and appurtenances (grounds, walks, lawns, shrubbery, etc.)
• Operation and care of low-pressure heating systems and ventilating equipment
• Skilled in the use of hand tools and knowledge of the minor adjustment and repair of furniture and other building equipment, including plumbing, heating, and electrical fixtures
• Knowledge of fire and accident prevention in public buildings, including the operation and care of the various kinds of hand fire extinguishers
• Knowledge of the proper display of the flag of the United States of America
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships
New Hire hourly rate = $23.42 per hour
Hours per week = 40
Weeks per year = 52
Base Annual salary = $48,714
Night Differential (6%) = $2,923
Head/Lead Differential (7%) = $3,410
Uniform Allowance = $700
Longevity after 5 years = $250
Vacation = Eligible after 90 days probation
10 vac days prorated based on start date
Personal days = Eligible after 90 days probation
4 personal days prorated based on start date
Sick Days =Eligible after 6 months
15 sick days prorated based on start date
Holidays = 13 paid holidays
plus a Floating holiday after 90 days probation
