Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team at Randolph Pulmonary and Sleep Clinic. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in patient intake and documentation of medical history.
- Measure vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, weight, oxygen).
- Prepare patients for examinations and perform procedures including 6 minute walk tests, Pulmonary function test, EKG, and spirometry.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and specimen collection.
- Handle patient scheduling, medical record management, and insurance verification for specialty medications and prior authorizations for medications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Provide patient education on healthcare procedures, treatments, and preventive care.
- Ensure the confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in a medical or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
