Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team at Randolph Pulmonary and Sleep Clinic. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong desire to help others, and the ability to handle a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to support the provider. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make a difference in patient care while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in patient intake and documentation of medical history.
  • Measure vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, weight, oxygen).
  • Prepare patients for examinations and perform procedures including 6 minute walk tests, Pulmonary function test, EKG, and spirometry.
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and specimen collection.
  • Handle patient scheduling, medical record management, and insurance verification for specialty medications and prior authorizations for medications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Provide patient education on healthcare procedures, treatments, and preventive care.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience in a medical or clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
