Upper School Math Teacher 

Full-time, 10-month, August 2025

The 17-acre Drake campus houses pre-kindergarten through grade eight, while the Upper School is located at the 76-acre Garth campus. Primary Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Identify and respond to each individual students’ learning needs and create enrichment opportunities; implement instructional strategies that contribute to meaningful learning experiences for all learners 
  • Work with grade-level teams to address the needs of the whole child 
  • Integrate the teaching of effective organization and study skills 
  • Use our Learning Management System to communicate and organize assignments 
  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication (parent conferences, written correspondence including narrative reports) 
  • Effectively monitor and manage student learning using a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student progress 
  • Create a supportive and inclusive environment and develop respectful relationships with students by using conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques within the classroom 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning through active participation in professional growth activities 
  • Maintain an effective, safe, and well-organized classroom 
  • Integrate technology appropriately in the classroom 
  • Serve as an advisor to a small group of students 
  • Share duties and responsibilities with other members of the faculty 

 

 Qualifications: 

 

  • Experience in teaching High School Math, preferably including Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses 
  • B.S. in Mathematics required, M.A. in Mathematics preferred 
  • Independent college preparatory school experience preferred 
  • Student-centered, collaborative, approachable, passionate about mathematics                                      

 

Interest and ability to contribute to our athletics and extracurricular programs is an additional consideration.
