What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Technical CTE Teacher position at Randolph Technical Career Center?
PreTech Exploratory Instructor
The Pre-Tech Exploratory program offers students in 10th Grade the time and opportunity to explore various career pathways offered at RTCC through a full-day, year-long program.
The program provides the information students need to make informed decisions regarding career paths they wish to follow. The Pre-Tech program allows students in our region to experience an introduction to future career possibilities.
The ideal candidate will be a "jack of all trades" who holds a VT teaching license in Science or Social studies. They will teach students to safely use tools to aide in the building of a shed on the RTCC property. This shed will also be wired with electricity. These activities will be led by the Pre-Tech teacher. Additionally, the students will gain experience working on a car, developing 3D prints, and incorporating history, math, and ELA into thiese projects. The pre-Tech teacher will develop programming around student visits to all of RTCC's programs and should have a range of knowlege of various trade skills to lead projects of their own. They will also teach the Class "Intro to College and Careers" through CCV. The Pre-Tech teacher will also organize field trips to businesses that align with RTCC's programs.
The RTCC Pre Tech program supports students to:
1. Develop a profile of career pathways they wish to explore.
2. Explore some of the career and technical programs available at RTCC by experiencing similar activities and shadow programs offered at the center.
3. Practice employment skills such as completing applications, resumes, and interview skills.
There will also be embedded credits for ELA, mathematics, science and humanities woven within the course work. This will enable students to continue to stay on track to graduation while developing a solid academic and career pathway plan for their junior and senior year in high school and beyond.
We are seeking a candidate with experience and passion in Career and Technical Education trades to teach the variety of pathways offered at our center.
