Analyst II
Position Purpose: Understand business needs, create and document operational and system processes to help standardize business practices in a reproducible and scalable way, collect and analyze data to elaborate reports that offer opportune information for decision making that allow achieving goals and strategic objectives of the company. Recommend or work on continuous improvement projects associated with processes and reports. Provide mentoring, guidance and technical expertise to other analysts as needed in order to achieve goals. May have, as assigned, direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and document existing and new processes by working with stakeholders. Identify pain points and improvement opportunities to provide process recommendations.
- Manage and maintain data in systems that support the owned processes. Understand systems relationships and interactions for the supported processes.
- Design and maintain reports that provide reliable information to support business processes, projects, and decision-making. Elaborate required databases to collect and connect data at the required level of detail, using the available tools. Evaluate business needs, clearing up doubts as necessary. Analyze available data sources, determine required data, and validate obtained results to assure accuracy of the reports.
- Analyze data with the objective of responding to the needs of information, understanding and being able to identify data sources. The analyst should have advanced knowledge of the data sources available and be comfortable working with multiple unstructured sources at the same time.
- Be a process owner and understand the inputs, outputs, and responsibilities for each step of the process.
- Be a report owner and ensure understanding of the data shown in the reports and their logic.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of data shown in the systems, tools, and reports involved in the supported processes.
- Create and maintain documentation of all development efforts.
- Run reports showing performance of company's processes or supporting business processes.
- Participate in projects as required by supporting design, testing, implementation, and analytical support activities.
- Work with cross functional business and IS partners in the above-mentioned tasks.
- Make recommendations, work, or guide others on the improvement of existing procedures/reports, decreasing time and steps to reproduce, by using the tools available. Implement best practices, standardization, new concepts and ideas.
- Execute investigation, troubleshooting and customer follow up related to the process, systems, and reports. Assist users of systems and reports with the interpretation of data as necessary.
- Provide mentoring, guidance, analytical support, and technical expertise to other analysts as needed in order to achieve goals. Search for business knowledge and share it with the team.
- Demonstrate advanced communication skills and provide exceptional customer service to business partners and customers. Be able to identify priorities of requests; respond in a prompt and accurate way to requests or questions from customers. Communicate issues/concerns to leaders/capacity planner in a timely matter.
- Consider moving to paygrade 17 when co-leading cross functional process design, systems implementations, or reports development.
- May have, as assigned, direct reports: set goals, provide continuous feedback, train and coach direct reports. Conduct the periodical Performance Appraisals and Development Assessments. Move to paygrade 18 when direct reports assigned.
- With DR: Provide follow up to internal goals, for example Self Development goals.
- Execute all of the above demonstrating the EPIM values.
