Electrical Professional Engineer

job summary:

This role involves reviewing and interpreting codes, specifications, and designs, using professional judgment to make informed recommendations and determinations. The position supports various engineering and related services, with a focus on electrical design. The individual will collaborate with the design team to ensure all requirements and standards are met, facilitating the approval process by relevant regulatory agencies.

responsibilities:

1. Lead and oversee the design efforts of a team of 15 designers.
2. Review and support the creation of electrical design plans for low to medium voltage systems.
3. Act as the technical expert in the field, troubleshooting and resolving any design-related issues.
4. Review, mark up, and stamp/seal electrical designs on a daily basis.
5. Demonstrate a strong problem-solving mindset in all aspects of work.
6. Collaborate effectively with a diverse range of personalities and skill sets, both internally and externally.
7. Exhibit strong leadership capabilities to guide and motivate the design team.
8. Maintain a hands-on approach to overseeing and contributing to design processes.
9. Analyze and break down information from bid documents, customer specifications, provided drawings, and electrical designs to ensure compliance with all requirements.
10. Perform necessary calculations to support design and project accuracy.
11. Travel to project sites as needed for on-the-ground assessments.
12. Undertake other duties as assigned by management.

qualifications:

Education: Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university

Experience: 6 to 10 years on the job experience as an Electrical PE

Certificates, Licenses or Registrations: PE Licenses in multiple states - TX, TN, OH, MI, SC, VA, FL, CA, MO preferred

skills: Expert knowledge of the National Electric Code

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Computer programs: Windows, Word, Excel, the latest release of AutoCAD, the latest release of Revit.

Knowledge of algebra and geometry and mathematical formulas.

Technical ability in the Electrical, Architectural, and Mechanical fields.
